Tournament Rules
Minnesota State High School Rules will apply with some exceptions as noted:
Game Length:
- 14 minute stop time halves.
- 3 minutes for halftime; minimum 3 minutes pre-game warm-up.
- A 15 pt. lead in the last 7 minutes of the 2nd half will result in a change to running time until the lead is below 15 pts.
- No full court press is allowed with a lead of 15 pts. or more. One warning will be issued for violating the no press rule. After one warning, a bench technical foul will be called.
Time Outs:
- Each team is allowed four (4) timeouts per game. Two (2) 30 second timeouts; two (2) 1 minute time outs.
- Unused time outs do not carry over to overtime period (s).
Overtime:
- 1st overtime – 2 minutes, 2nd overtime – “sudden death”
- 1 timeout per overtime.
Lineups:
- Must be in the official scorebook at the table 5 minutes before the game starts.
Foul Shooting:
- 1 and 1 on 7th foul; 2 shots on 10th foul.
Technical Fouls:
- 2 points shall be awarded & possession of the ball.
Tie Breakers in pool play are as follows:
- Head to Head competition
- Least Points Allowed
- Coin Flip
All defenses and presses allowed at all levels.
Bottom team listed supply SCOREKEEPER at game table. Home team listed first/top of bracket provide game ball.
10 trophies: 1st & 2nd in pool play - 1st, 2nd, 3rd place will be awarded for 6 team pool play -
1st, 2nd, 3rd & Consolation in bracket play.
2 Coaches per team will be allowed free entrance into the tournament. Coaches must sign in.
There will not be a trainer on site for injuries. Coaches & parents must determine the extent of injury. In the event an injury requires a call to 911, we ask the coach and/or parent to make the call. We will do whatever we can to assist as required.
